Re: Millie doodle pup intro

Welcome. It's scary, the way you bond so quickly with them - but they bring such joy.

Re: The neighbours want a dog, but!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Point him to Ian Dunbar's book "Before You Get Your Puppy" http://www.dogstardaily.com/files/downloads/BEFORE_You_Get_Your_Puppy.pdf , which is available free online. It's very clear that puppies and very young children are not a good mix and gives some idea of what will be involved in dealing with ...

Re: Dog Park Problem

Toffee is spayed and Fred is fixed, so that shouldn't be the issue. Our little town is really well set up for dog parks and designated off-lead areas - there are about ten of them, all with special dog shaped poo collecting bins. The one we go to on Wednesdays is the safest, at the end of a quiet cu...

Re: After a hard day at the doodle office...

Toffee has been working on this but she's not sure she's really got the relaxed bit. More practice needed :)

Dog Park Problem

Hi. I'm having some problems in our local dog park and would welcome any suggestions. The park is a big open field, about the size of three cricket pitches and fenced all round. I've been taking Toffee there since she was about twelve weeks to walk her off lead and let her socialise with other dogs ...

Re: Prednisolone

We had prednisone eye drops and they made Toffee wee in the house. When I looked it up on the net, it is a common side effect - the incontinence lasted for a while after we stopped the drops, perhaps because she was learning it was ok to go in the house. We were so proud that she'd only ever wee'd t...

Re: Get your crystal balls out please

Toffee was just over 8kg at five months and reached 9.5kg at around seven months. She's stayed at 9.5 or 10kg ever since then - really hasn't grown much though she's got a bit leggier and more grown up shaped.

Re: Transporting dogs in the car boot - advice please!

Toffee goes into a crate which takes up just over half of our boot space. The rest seems to be taken up with a collection of balls, towels, gumboots for dogwalking, water bowls, water bottles and other dog paraphernalia so i'm not sure we actually get any real luggage space. We have been known to co...

Re: Help with Abi's lack of interest in dinners.

Toffee isn't a foody dog either. It's like she doesn't remember she's supposed to eat. Her bowl can go down and she'll sniff and not eat anything. But if she then sees me drop one tiny treat - like a piece of chicken - on top of the food, she'll go for that and its as if that suddenly reminds her wh...
