Re: Stout meets Doug at Flyball!

Hi Chris Thanks for the video - he did really well that week! This week was a bit of a disaster. They decided we were good enough to actually let our dogs go whilst the other dog was still running back. Doug was fine when we were doing it one by one, but by introducing another dog flying towards him...

Re: Doug's first Flyball lesson!

Collies are really sensible, aren't they? We had two in our group and they were impeccably behaved. I will wait for Stout's arrival next week, would be fab to meet the legend! Just in case we are hard to find I will be the out of puff lady screaming "cheese" to a very poodly (just been cut) looking ...

Re: Doug's first Flyball lesson!

We were at Longhill park in Bracknell, which is really handy as training starts at 9am and I have to be in Bracknell for 8.20 am on a Saturday as No 2 son has trampolining training. Thinking about it, Doug was also wearing the class clown hat. Well, people were certainly laughing at him that's for s...

Doug's first Flyball lesson!

Well I thought he had pretty good recall but not today! He was great at running and jumping down the lane, retrieving the ball and then running back, but then just careered off to see all the other dogs (the runs had been set up in the middle of a very popular park for dog walking so lots of new dog...

Re: Flyballing doodles

We have signed Doug up to the same team that Stout goes to in Bracknell after we read their fabulous post's. Have not heard back from them yet as I only sent the form off last week, but hoping to start on the 26th April. Not sure if we will be any good but thought it would be fun and would be good e...

Re: Harvey

I can only add to what has been said above.

Doug was fine (though he was a bit older). It is horrible, but he will get through it, and will love all the extra attention and spoiling as he recovers.

Thoughts are with you all.

Re: Emergency vet visit

Hi Harvey's mum. If its any consolation Doug did the same thing 3 weeks ago with a shard of bone (no idea where he found it). He panicked too when I tried to take it out of his mouth and promptly swallowed it! He had x-rays and we waited a day to see if he would pass it, then went back the next day ...

Re: Sat 22nd Feb - Bucks/Berks doodle dash - Burnham Beeches

Hi all. Unfortunately we will not be able to make the walk now. I forgot I had tickets to see West Side Story on Saturday night so it will be too much of a rush :( However, last Friday (valentines day) we went there for lunch. We were picking my daughter up from school for half term (she boards in T...

I would love to try to come (and possibly bring my kiddies too). Just need to organise myself and the children.

Doug had an op a couple of weeks ago and the stitches come out on Monday, so will also check with the vet that he is up to a mad doodle walk.

Have voted. I really hope that your friends are successful. Having a fit 17 year old (who has just gone out to watch the superbowl with his friends as he has just passed his driving test, which terrifies me) it is something that I think about and I totally support the work that these people do in th...
