Re: Is my dog overheating?
These are great for keeping them cool, we've had a couple now for Roker as he used to come to the South of France with us where it could get to 35/36c at times. We had a scare with him there one year so got this for the following year. We used it loads to the point he needed a new one and we got thi...

Re: Potential new labradoodle owner
What a fabulous picture - they are both just so photogenic. How are you coping with this virus, hoping that you and the family are managing to stay safe and well. Its hectic at home currently, both of us are still working full time as it stands plus we've got Eddie running about and Roker to deal w...

Re: Potential new labradoodle owner
Hi all...great to see this place is still going even if its not as lively as it once was. Its not the only forum i've used that is succumbing somewhat to the likes of Facebook etc which many just find easier to use. Thought i'd give a Roker update, he's now 6 and a very good big brother to his siste...

In terms of Northumberland we've stopped in the Links Hotel in Seahouses and they've always been great with the dog. Great beach walk from Seahouses to Bamburgh ending up round the back of the castle. The Bamburgh Castle Hotel in Seahouses, confusingly, is also dog friendly and very nice. Sadly the ...

Re: Use it or lose it
Yep, done the beach at Dunstanburgh as well which is fantastic. A guy i used to play cricket with is now living in Embleton so visited him that day as well, cracking pub in the village which was of course dog friendly. Not that you would have known he was there, after two hours on the beach he was s...

Re: Use it or lose it
She idolises him and thinks he's amazing often ending with a big hug draped over his back....Roker takes it all in his stride and just lets it all happen. He's so laid back its unbelievable....until he's in an open field with a ball then its a different story! We often find him asleep on the landing...

We're off to Robin Hoods Bay this Easter with friends stopping at Meadowbeck Cottages again which i've mentioned on a post here before. They are on the main road between Scarborough and Whitby just near the turn off for Robin Hoods Bay so numerous beaches not far away and I always find the area real...

Re: Potential new labradoodle owner
Its been a while mainly because we had a baby last October and i spent most of 2018 not working and at home with our daughter Edith and Roker. Hard to believe that i started this thread over 5 years ago now!! We now have a 5yr old Roker who is a great big brother to Eddie and very patient with her a...

Re: Small Australian Labrdoodle - how far can they walk
I asked a similar question when getting our Doodle and the answer was that the size doesnt really matter....you may find the bigger dogs are less able to walk further due to their bigger bodies etc. Prior to getting Roker i occasionally walked my brother in laws Bichon and she loved long walks. I wo...

Re: Labrador v labradoodle temperement
Can vouch for the getting a pup in winter comment...we picked Roker up in December and i spent most of then through Jan and Feb stood in the back yard cold and wet, wasnt much fun!! As for temperament, a lot of it can be what you put into it as well. Roker was definitely lively, probably a nice way ...

Re: Car recommendations for 2 labradoodles!
I've had an Insignia estate for the last 3 and a half years and its great for lugging Roker around. Big flat boot area plus mine has an automatic boot so i just open it and Roker runs up and jumps in. The flat load area is great for using as a bench to sit down and change footwear etc. I've transpor...
