Re: Puppy Socialization Classes - A Disaster!
Our puppy classes were not fun. The trainer took the opinion that because rig is a Labradoodle there was no chance of him learning anything. He was too interested in the smells in the field and wanting to play with the other puppies which was discouraged. If I had known then what I do now I would ha...

I read that line about ownership as if from poppy! I think it fits!

I am so sorry to hear Murphy is not feeling well. It is heart breaking to see them poorly. Just like with our children we wish we could take any suffering away.

Re: Help for a new puppy owner PLEASE....
Hi! I can't help with the citronella, but as far as a happy puppy is concerned, it's very much like raising children. Lots of love and patience, reward the good, try to ignore the bad. Consistency and routine help. Any tricky bits are a phase and will pass. Some really good positive trainers on YouT...

Re: Fear becomes reality.
It's such a shame isn't it Sue, I hope lottie is ok. It just spoils what should be an enjoyable walk. Rigby had his stitches out yesterday so could go back to the park but I just can't face it, so have been road walking him. He is definitely more nervous and he was nervous anyway! He jumped out of h...

Re: Sleeping doodles
Rigby goes hell for leather when he's out! But will sleep most of the day and all night. He'll get up and see what going on, or grab something and run to the garden when he sees eldest son, but apart from making sure he's not missing anything, he'll sleep!

I don't know if it would help, but might it be worth giving him a bit of local honey every day? I bathe Rigby's eyes with green tea whenever they look goopy, sorts him out and he likes to drink the left over!

Re: please to meet you all
My Rigby is a mini and at 2 years old is 11.4kg and 18 inches to the shoulder. He seemed to stop growing somewhere between 1 and 1.5 years but in the last few months he's filled our nicely and put on 1kg although he's not fatter if you see what I mean. So quite a bit of growing to go yet for your we...

Re: Fear becomes reality.
I spoke to the vet about Rigby's baubles, he can see why I've kept them and thinks it would be best to see a behaviourist first to assess the behaviour. He said, like me, I wouldn't want to whip them off and him lose his confidence, what bit he has, and make him worse. So I'll be doing that. Thanks ...

Re: Fear becomes reality.
Thanks Bid. This behaviour of rigs, telling other dogs to go away is a fairly recent thing, in the last 6 months or so. It's only the dogs that are really full on and he's not aggressive at all. But I think it might be getting him into trouble. Do you mean that neutering him would mean he would be l...
