Re: doodles travelling in cars - what do you do?

Just a note on basing your car on the dog - when my husband changed his, Tia was very little, he got a mondeo estate and guard so she could be safe in the boot and not jump over and have plenty of space. However, after much trial and error and much cleaning up, the only way Tia isn't sick in the car...

Re: Anyone in Cheshire

Hello, we are based in Moulton and can always meet up for a play if you like. Unfortunately, Tia is very big and plays like a lunatic so it's only advised if Ruby is the same! There are 2 forum users, Heidipie and Travis who regularly arrange meet-ups in various locations. You could try messaging th...

Re: Tia - The ripped ear and the need for a new harness!

Thanks for this, I am going to get a head collar, might go for the SWAG one as you can get it in pink!

I grew up with Goldies and they are such gorgeous dogs, I hope he is OK now x

Re: Mekuti users

We tried it out, but had to send it back. On the plus side, they are really good quality, well made and strong, and I loved the look of it. Unfortunately, I found that the double lead set-up aggravated a neck problem that I have and it still felt like she was pulling, much more than the easy walk ha...

Chewing her dew claws???

Hello, does anyone have any experience of a dog chewing it's dew claws? Tia does it occasionally when she is lying down, and we can't figure it out. Not sure if it is always the same one, but I've had a good look at both and can find no sign of soreness, anything stuck, or overgrowth. When she does ...

Re: Recall

I was going to suggest the whistle! Tia is mostly very good, but only through constant reinforcement as she was getting very good at 'turning a deaf ear'! We use the whistle sometimes, and sometimes just call her (I don't want to rely on the whistle in case we don't have one at some time), using the...

Re: Pet names for our Doods

Tia is generally - baby, pumpkin, tea-cup, princess or puppy-dog, depending on who is speaking to her, she expecially likes to be called pretty-girl or beautiful, which always get a tail wag, and she gets the full name (Tiana) only when she has been naughty, usually accompanied by some other less-re...

Re: Scavenger

I really hope that George is feeling a bit better. I read that artificial sweetners can cause havoc with a dogs stomach, but you wouldn't expect these to be in a natural kids chew? Oscar - I hate to tell you, but even girls, and even girls who have been spayed, hump their beds on a regular basis. No...

Re: Tia - The ripped ear and the need for a new harness!

Thanks guys. We tried the Mekuti, and I loved the robustness of it, but I had to send it back because the 2-ended lead irritated my neck problem! The Easy walk has worked wonders for the pulling, but is not so robust! I will update you on what we go for and how it works, and I've also 'encouraged' m...

Re: Tia - The ripped ear and the need for a new harness!

Hi Bid, I really like the look of the swag head collar, do you need to have the dog on one side with this one or does it attach in the middle? Thanks.

Re: Tia - The ripped ear and the need for a new harness!

Thanks for all the advice, I will check out these other harnesses and head collars. I might end up with a head collar and the Julius, just won't tell me husband how much it has cost!

Re: Tia - The ripped ear and the need for a new harness!

Thanks for the replies, and the pictures of Beamish, they do look great don't they, and I'd love to get her a pink one with 'Princess' on one side, and 'Nutcase' on the other! Our vet said to get a headcollar, I've avoided it because they always seem to hate them, and people without dogs seem to ass...

Re: showing teeth

I've only just seen this thread, and it is really interesting. We used to have a Goldie, and she was the softest, most affectionate dog I have ever known. However, she absolutely hated it if someone put their face near hers, and she would show her teeth regularly if she thought you were too close. S...
