Re: A smell in the air
I spoke to the vet receptionist today. Lucy doesn't show any other symptoms of anal gland issues. It is likely to be food and diet. I am going to introduce some meat based treats to see if she reacts to them. I also have some deodorising liquid to clean the garden. If she has any significant changes...

Re: A smell in the air
Thanks Anne! It's a weird smell to be honest and all the family say its smells of something different but fishy seems the best description  Will call the vets shortly and see what they say. Can't say I'm looking forward to anything gland related. I just hope she's not in pain or anything such...

A smell in the air
Hello everyone! It's been a while since I last logged on but I have just had a few minutes to catch up on the latest posts. New puppies have joined! So cute and making me feel tempted but I won't succumb to the cuteness. Well Lucy is her usual wonderful self. We have had her a year now and its flown...

Re: Lucy update.
Yippee! It's done! Lucy has completed her treatment :D We just have to keep a close eye on her. Regular checks, which should be easy enough as we groom her so often to relieve her itching. Any changes in her behaviour and straight to vet. Thankyou all for your lovely messages and sorry to make you c...

Lucy update.
Hello all! Hope you and your lovely doods and doodettes are well. So, tomorrow is Lucy's last chemo. It doesn't seem that long since her diagnosis and the fear we felt. She has been a star and taken it all in her stride. No side effects to note except for weight gain but that will hopefully correct ...

Re: Scratching
Hi. I agree that the combs do result in a huge amount of fluff!! I combed Lucy again yesterday. She isn't bothered by it at all, in fact she pushes against it as I comb her. (Originally we were told it would probably be quite painful as it pulls on their coats.) There has definitely been a reduction...

Re: Scratching
Lucy suffers from itching there too. We changed her food some time ago to help but it coincided with her chemo and steroids have eliminated it. Now the steroids are reducing the itching is back. We have been advised today to use a different comb to groom her. It pulls the under coat out. We were ori...

group walks
I have seen many posts for group walks but none in Norfolk or close by? Have I missed them? When Lucy has finished her treatment I am sure she would love the exercise. She has coped with a couple of days out, with lots of rests. We just have to monitor her as her immune system is lower than normal. ...

Re: Ppl keep asking is she a spaniel?
We were out yesterday and someone stopped us to as about our labradoodle! I could have kissed him! (I didn't). I think its assumed that they have curly coats. Lucy has a wavy coat and now I have trimmed her she looks very different. I kept her beard and eyebrows a little longer so she didn't lose he...
