Re: Trips to Ireland

There must be a vast difference betweem South and NI, I have heard good things about NI as regards pets, and I am sure I must have ruffled a few feathers when I wrote my original account of our `disaster` of a holiday in Ireland with Roza. I must make it clear, we were in Southern Ireland. The disap...

One last trip to Orkney

Just returned from a visit to our former home in Orkney, the Island of Stronsay. A long drive from Manchester was broken by a 2 day stay a a really lovely guest house just outside Newtonmore, Crubenbeg House, massive ground floor room and Roza loved the extensive gardens. She was not allowed in the d...

Re: France

Basically the whole place is dog friendly! Took some real getting used to being able to take Roker into restaurants, hotels etc without any issues at all. First night in Arromanches we asked if there was any room outside but it was full, as we went to leave they just said it wasnt a problem for him...

Re: Trips to Ireland

I have also heard that the Irish are not dog friendly people, our local cats and dogs home (bath cats and dogs ) do regular runs to ireland rescuing abandoned and unwanted dogs. Ferry companies are also a disgrace ! I dog died just recently on P&O ferries as it was locked in the car and the owners w...

Re: Trips to Ireland

Just to clear up a point about the intollerence shown to dogs in Ireland, we were told that it was `illegal` to have dogs where people were served food. Indeed one of only 2 places we managed to take my lovely Roza into was owned by an Irish lady who had just returned from OZ after many years. She s...

Trips to Ireland

We were convinced to take my lovely Roza to Ireland by a picture of a lovely cottage in Co Mayo, the owners welcomed well behaved pets(as many cottages to rent in Ireland are dog friendly) . Indeed when we arrived the owners were very nice & the cottage was terrific, the couple whose house we went t...

Re: Dry nose?

Hi Everyone :) Baxter often has a dry nose at the top. I asked the vet about it and he said it wasn't anything to worry about. Do any of your doods get this at all? If so, do you pop a bit of moisturiser on it? xxx Hi again, forgot to add, Roza had a pretty bad turn of `the squits` a while ago , I ...

Re: Is it really so bad, please be honest..

Ever since we dispensed with Oscar's crate at 18 months, due to him outgrowing it  , He has slept the night away soundly and peacefully on the sofa. We have tried quite a few different dog beds since, but they just get humped and chewed up in no time  . Some people that we have told, se...

Re: Bailey as eaten a sock

Hi all , Bailey decided it was time to pinch a sock but instead of doing his usual run round the garden and being chased he decided to eat it. Been to the vets and they advised to monitor him for the next few days , if he stops eating or starts vomiting then to take him back in. Just wondered if an...

Re: Electronic Dog Voice Boxes

Hi, keep reading your post & if all seems normal as far as the tests to date are concerned maybe if you knocked off the rice , my pal Roza had terrible squits & we think the rice was a contributary factor. Sweet potatoe cooked & mashed worked wonders for Roza, but as I have said before we changed to...

Re: IBD (Inflammatory Bowel Disease)

So very sorry for your pal! I know how you feel. I am a `raw` convert of late & swear by it ( up to now ) When Ozzie settles down you might try mixing a portion of boiled sweet potatoe , mashed, with his food. My best wishes,Allen & Roza

DIET PROBLEMS

My lovely Roza a 7 month old big doodle has had 2 attacks of the squits, I am really worried, can`t seem to get much canny advice from the vet, she has had one lot of anti-biotics, it cleared for 2 to 3 wks, now back again. She has been on lightly boiled chicken, brown rice & Optimum large breed pup...
