Re: Humping

Hi Sharon, Thanks for your reply. Archie even looks like Bertie ( I read the upload pics information and I still havent mastered it). What an excellent idea Im going to shop for a pet corrector straight away. Im really hoping this will work and I am beyond embarrassed lately . Bertie jumped on a hug...

Re: Humping

Hi Anny, Thank you for your reply. Yup doodles are embarrassing and I'm so pleased that I am not alone in this. I have sort of forgiven him, although we have not been to the park today and his manners have been impeccable with the visitors we had over. We often meet a golden retriever in the park ca...

Humping

Humping! I've had enough. Bertie is 6 and has been neutered for a very long time. He doesn't hump things or people but cannot resist a black labrador (all the better if hes male). or anything labrador size and shape. We can walk for 2 hrs and he will play or walk passed 9 dogs and hump the 10th. I h...

Re: Introducing a new dog

Thank you for your advice. I am asking them to ring the border collie rescue to see if Ralph has a history with other dogs while he was there or offer some insight . Gemma has enrolled him in dog socialisation/obedience classes from the beginning of september. She got Ralph to use him for agility wh...

Re: Introducing a new dog

Well this has escalated further. We went for a walk in a big open park today. 2 collies and Bertie, female collie and Bertie off lead and Ralph (male collie) on a long lead as he doesnt have a recall yet. We had walked for about 1 hour and all the dogs were getting on fine, paddling in the stream ch...

Re: Introducing a new dog

To be honest the collies havent visited Berties house since the altercation and its something we will be working on this week. The female collie is fairly submissive and stays out of the way mostly I dont think she contributes anything to make things worse or better. Im really surprised at Berties r...

Introducing a new dog

Bertie is a 5yr old standard Labradoodle. He is a happy chappy, quite bouncy and up til now has got on well with most of the dogs he meets. My son had 2 border collies male and female who he has known since he was a puppy and he has an excellent relationship with these dogs. Which is just as well as...

Re: Ear infection - anyone help?

Hello, Bertie started having ear infections as you describe from about 12/18 months. It seemed as soon as one cleared up a week later the next one started. He had steroids and antihistamines from the vet and ear drops. I found that the steroids really didnt suit him and altered his behaviour too. Th...

Re: Ears

Hello, Bertie had chronic ear infections from about the age of 18months . The vet gave him steroids and antihistamines and an expensive veterinary diet. None of this helped. I changed his diet to grain free from Millies wolfheart, I rang them and they gave me great feeding advice and free samples. I...

Re: Humping

Oh thanks for that, the harness is a really good idea. I think I shall get "humper" written on Berties lol.

Re: Humping

Thanks for that, Bertie is indiscriminate, male, female either really. I only feel really safe with small dogs as he cant get down that low. Im a little afraid of big dogs, so when he picked on the hugest rottie I have ever seen, Im afraid I just ran away and left him to it. How he hasnt been bitten...

Humping

Bertie is a 4yr old standard doodle. He has been speyed for approx 3 yrs + . He is quite laid back and chilled, with occasional doodle dashes. He loves to go out and be off lead, running round like a show pony. He gets between 1 1/2 to 2 hrs of exercise a day. His recall is normally very good and he...

Re: Which Grain Free, hypoallergenic, dry complete food?

Hello, I use Millies wolfheart too. I contacted them and they gave advice about which food to use, as Bertie had struggled constantly with ear infections and loose smelly stools. Bertie loves it and it suits him, rarely does he have any problems with his ears now, his coat is much nicer. Lately a li...

Re: Anal Glands

Oh I share your concerns. Bertie started squeaking when he pooed to about the same time as Murphy. I took him to the vet who expressed his anal glands but said there wasnt much there really. He told me to bulk up his diet with Dorwest herbs tree barks powders. ( it smells nasty but strangely enough ...
