Re: Labradoodle sizes

I bought an f1 miniature labradoodle on Sunday! He’s absolutely perfect. His mum is a family, loving Labrador and his dad a red KC reg miniature poodle. HOWEVER. We took him for his first jabs on Monday evening and at 9 weeks old he weighs 6.4kg and he’s standing the same size as my brothers Labrad...

Re: Jumping

Dexter nearly 6years still gets excited when people come, but because we have a chill out zone ,the study from when he was a pup, we just say "study" in he goes ,then we open the door. after a few minutes we say calmed down right out you come and he now rubs their legs in greeting like a cat. Took t...

Re: Nutritious diet advice for greedy mini labradoodle - hel

Hi, how’s it going. Did you get a chance to change his food or try the crate. Would his doing business in the kitchen be a form of anxiety perhaps. Is he otherwise happy to be left on own. I couldn’t agree more coming down in the morning to mess is particularly unpleasant, clearly up sick on the od...

Re: Nutritious diet advice for greedy mini labradoodle - hel

I’m not much help but my friends golden retriever would eat anything and everything but it stopped on his own accord. Also can you put him on a long line in the garden so you can pull him away with the correct command and give him a high value treat. One of my dogs is crate trained the other is not...

Re: Jumping

Stanley is a jumper too. He loves humans so much more than other dogs and thinks they want close bodily contact with him. He’s also still mouthy at 9 months so we are working hard to try and calm him down around people. He used to love a run on the beach and his recall was excellent but we’ve had to...

Re: Nutritious diet advice for greedy mini labradoodle - hel

Me again  bugging me this. Did the vet do a blood test to say all is good or is it one of those dismissive type vets? You mention ‘all the other problems’ is there something else besides his hoovering every/anything? If was me,definitely wouldn’t chase him in the garden as may become a thrill...

Re: Nutritious diet advice for greedy mini labradoodle - hel

Out of curiosity has he ever had tummy trouble. Anyway I would change his food, over few days, go for best you can afford with as higher protein content available. I feed raw now so not too clued up on latest best dry food suffice to loads of new on market in this mega bucks industry. Have you trie...

Nutritious diet advice for greedy mini labradoodle - help!

So Stanley is 9 months old and from the day we got him he has been insatiable. He has a slow feed bowl and gobbles all the food down we give him in seconds. He eats everything in sight and even after feeding the recommended amount will head straight out to the garden to eat sticks, soil, grass, flow...

Re: Puppy fur?

Hi "owned by Stanley" our Holly is now over 5 years her coat has not changed much since her first wash and trim around 6 months. It took me a while to understand the poodle/lab coat complexity. The lab coat became trapped under the curlier poodle coat and at 6 months whilst I thought I was brushing...

Puppy fur?

Has anybody else’s doodles coat changed dramatically as they’ve got older? Stanley started off quite curly all over with more of a poodle coat but now his legs and tail have a shorter dense fur more like a lab and his face and body are still quite fine and poodle like. He looks quite comical at the ...

Re: My 8 month labradoodle has loads and loads of grey hair!

My 4 month old chocolate mini labradoodle is getting more and more white hairs by the day. All down his legs and now around his eyes! I will still adore him but was hoping he’d stay a rich chocolate colour as according to the breeder all parents and grandparents were pure chocolates. Doing research ...

Introducing Stanley

Hi My name is Sally and I have a double choc mini labradoodle called Stanley. He’s 14 weeks old and think he’s gonna stay pretty small as is currently weighing in at just under 4 kilos. His mum is a chocolate miniature labradoodle and his dad is a chocolate miniature poodle. Stanley is quite a chara...
