We have an unconfirmed case near us too - just 1/2 mile away in local woods (Lickey Hills, Worcestershire) We're avoiding for now just in case.

Re: Older Doodles

Hello, Janet and your girls! Molly is now 11, and Saffie 10. Both have had fatty lumps removed in the past few years. Molly has had 2 lots of surgery, the last when she was 10, and Saffie once, at a younger age. Each time, they had 3-4 lumps removed. I took the vet’s advice and a couple of lumps wer...

Doggy daycare Norfolk

Molly and Saffie (now aged 11and 9) and I have spent many a happy holiday on the Norfolk coast! We are now planning a whole family holiday to Norfolk, with daughters, sons in law and grandchildren, for some time next year. But Molly in particular no longer has the stamina for a whole day out. So doe...

Re: Goodbye to Phoebe

I wish I could think of the right words to say to comfort you. As a "mum" of 2 doodles, I happen to think that they're all special, but Phoebe sounds so much more than special, and her gift to so many people through her PAT activities will be remembered forever. I can only send you heartfelt hugs. Xxx

Re: Harley not well

Fingers crossed for him .

By the way, there was no sign of an abscess in Molly, either visual or on examination - it was so deep inside her face. It's eruption was a complete surprise and happened just the day before she was due to have a scan.

Big get well wishes for Harley! Xx

Re: Harley not well

https://www.vetary.com/dog/condition/retrobulbar-abscess I'm so sorry Harley is unwell. They do worry us sometimes. It might be worth asking your vet if Harley might have an abscess, maybe under a tooth, or deep in his face close to his jaw - or this link also might explain the bloodshot eye. I only...

Re: Valerian alternatives???

I still use the Clix Scary Sounds CD every year at this time as a desensitiser.

If it's bad I use Calmex. We've tried Calmex, scull cap and valerian, and Zylkene and find that Calmex works best for my girls. Different things suit different doodles!!

Fox poo miracle?!

After years of trying all the usual solutions, I have found that Huggies Baby Wipes not only clean but also remove the smell!!!!! Needs a few for a big doodle but SO worth it!!! Just thought I'd share  Some folks may not agree with using human wipes on dog skin - but no adverse effects here :D

Re: Foster home needed for 2 doodles for a few months.

I too am sorry to read about your wife's diagnosis. Like Pollydoodle says, it is something that touches most of us one way or another. While you'll want to do all you can to support your wife, and see to the welfare of your doodles, maybe don't make decisions too quickly - the diagnosis is a shock, ...
