Frodo - Gone too soon - 31.07.2020

It is with a broken heart I have to inform that my incredible and beautiful boy Frodo passed away last Friday 31 July 2020 at 8pm. He was 11 years old and we were recently informed that he had both thyroid and lung cancer and 3 weeks later we had to make the horrible decision to let him go, as he we...

Re: Won't wee or poo when on the lead

Frodo was exactly the same when he was young.

It must have taken him about 4 months to finally go whilst on the lead. We basically took him for a long walk (for his age) on the lead and he finally had a wee, we were shocked but gave him loads of praise.

After that he was ok.

Re: Non Hungry Doodle - never

Frodo has always been like this too, he is what we call a grazer. He will watch us put the food down, sniff it, lick it and then walk off. We keep it down for him and he just goes back randomly and eats a bit here and there.

He always eats it all, but never in one big go.

Aren't they just so cute when asleep?

I know doodles are actually cute all the time (well most of the time, LOL). But they are especially cute when they are tired out from a long run and sleeping with their favourite cuddly. Frodo will pretty much be out of it for the rest of the day now.. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v518/stidds/S...

Re: Sleep 'talking'

Frodo does this all the time, sometimes he will even start barking in his sleep. The other week, he was running, and 'talking' suddenly he sat up, barked loudly and then led back down. You could tell he was still asleep the whole time. He gets louder and more vocal the more tired he is, i.e. take hi...

Re: What to do with the poo!?

We also use nappy bags (biodegradable ones) very cheap at local shop 99p for 300. We put them in a spare plastic food recycling bin (council supplied ones) which has a lockable top, we put a bin liner in the recycling bin and change it every other week and put it out to be collected in the main rubb...

Re: Can I give Izzy milk to drink?

Dogs do tolerate goat's milk and assorted products like goat's milk yoghurt and cheese. Freja has ice cubes made with the yoghurt and loves them. Maybe just plain ice cubes would work too as many dogs like these. Good luck with the drinking and I hope Monday comes quickly. X2 We give Frodo goats mi...

Re: Anyone suggest a good car harness for a puppy?

Frodo used to hate being in the car and after about 20 minutes he would be sick. What we did was to take him on short journeys often and at the end of every journey he would end up somewhere nice, i.e. the park, beach etc. This made him realise that the car was a good and nice thing, he quickly sett...

Re: The Gloves are off! (Well, on actually)

Frodo still does this (but without the biting and growling) but it is now contained to the garden only. We call it his 'funny 5 minutes', he goes absolutely barmy at times, running round and round like a nut case. If he does start inside then he gets ushered outside quickly. They don't seem to grow ...

Re: Frodo started behaving badly.

Thank you all for taking the time to reply. We have had some progress with this issue. For the record our neighbour didn't give the branches back, hasn't apologised or taken any blame. But screw him, he now has a high fence replacing the cut off bush  We bought a DAP diffuser and it has seemed ...

Frodo started behaving badly.

Frodo has always been a good dog, never had separation anxiety, loves sleeping in his bed, never been destructive. Now over the 10 days all that has changed. Last week, we came home to havoc, he sleeps and stays in the hallway. Jo and I went out for a couple of hours and when we arrived home, the st...

Re: South West doodle picture in full colour!

It was another great day out, Frodo really enjoyed himself but was sooo tired when we got home.

Really nice to meet some new Doodles and it really is amazing how well they all get on.

See you all next month.
