Re: Dex is learning fast!!
Phoebe is uber clever too, and picks things up very fast. We do all sorts - touching with her nose left hand, right hand, and hand over the nose; turning in a circle left and right, crawl, lie down, place (where she goes around you and sits on your left side), peek-a-boo (where she comes around behi...

Re: Matilda reunited with Fergus.
I'm so sorry Linny, it's never easy, no matter how long their life is. In a way, it's a happy story - you literally gave her life and she repaid you with 20 years of love. Warm thoughts from Phoebe and me.

Re: Food fit for a doodle?
Good luck Emski! I recently went through the same process with Phoebe as she'd had some tummy problems which turned out to be Giardia (a nasty bug picked up from stagnant water and contaminated animal poop!) In the course of the treatment, a blood test revealed she had slightly high cholesterol and,...

Re: Car crates/boot guards
I currently have a Honda Civic. I drop one of the back seats and Phoebe travels very happily in her crate, which is firmly fixed to the car with straps and clips so, if I had an accident, the crate wouldn't fly forward and kill me! I have read that, in the case of a serious accident, there's nothing...

Re: A light bulb moment about toy destruction!
My sister, who lives in California and has three dogs, says she might just as well give them a $10 bill to rip up    I'm very luck with Phoebe as she has a soft mouth and doesn't destroy her toys. Well, she rips the stuffing out  but I've got the "skins" of toys she's had for th...

Re: Puppy programme on bbc2 this Tuesday and Wednesday
Although Phoebe is now 3, I'll be watching this. I'd had about a 20 year gap between dogs when I got her and I'd TOTALLY forgotten how much hard work a puppy is! But sooooo worth it

Re: Surrey Strollers - Reigate Hill - Sun. 4 Jan 2015, 10:30
Phoebe has taken to barking at horses and cattle - not something she ever did before one particular walk with my sister who panicked when we had to cross a style surrounded by cows and started shouting "put her on the lead, put her on the lead". I'm pretty sure Phoebe picked up on her anxiety and th...

Re: How to deal with a dog in season
Not sure I'm much help Rachel as when Phoebe had her one and only season, apart from the bleeding, she didn't seem to notice much. I used the special pads to keep the floors clean and walked her at off peak times (i.e. when there weren't many dogs around) and only on the lead and not in the park. Li...

My Annie has done this to me twice, both times for two months. The first time she came home (someone found her and called my vet who called me) on Christmas Eve! It was a great Christmas present....just like Socks.

Nice try Jackie, but I have to say Bella's expression says "Oh God, the things I put up with for this hooman!"
