Re: Velcro dog doodles!

  Pollydoodle no it's not actually Tess, I found it online but if I don't shut the door properly that's exactly what she does! There's no one else who could do that and not have me scream the place down. She is my closest confidant. What she sees she does not tell! (Good job!) ...

Re: Mad 5 Minutes

Tess did this as a pup- partly just being a naughty worzel  but also I did think it happened when we had probably gone further than we should have done. She was much younger though, not sure when she stopped, maybe about 16/17 weeks. xx

Re: New puppy blues

Poor you- do you have to shut the door? I had a crate and a pen but I never shut her in except when I mopped the floor and she would hang on it for a ride! Crating works for some people but its not for everyone or every dog and its certainly not essential. When I got my pup I bought a crate because ...

Re: Next step (house training)

I taught Tess to paw the door because she didn't bark at first. It's only any good when you're in the room though. She still never barks to go out but she does come and cry and wag her tail and do that Lassie follow me thing. Sometimes when you get to the kitchen she paws the door, sometimes she cri...

Re: Aggression in 14 week old

Please don't use an electric collar on your puppy. They are very cruel and will make him worse not better. I know how you are feeling as when I got my pup I was flabbergasted at how naughty she was and I was on here begging for help and asking if I'd picked a devil. We called her Tess of the Baskerv...

Re: Naughty or normal?

With the barking- poodles are very sensitive alert dogs. When he's barking he is probably trying to tell you something. Think about what triggers him and acknowledge him. Mine never barked as a puppy, it took a while for her to find her voice so it was a surprise when she started to bark at cars, lo...

Re: Kennel Club Focus Meeting Your views please!

It's another big no from me. How can it be registered as a breed when you can't breed predictably? It would lead to the horrible breed standard where a dog is no good if it's coat is wrong or it's muzzle's too short etc. I find this sickening. A dog is a dog whatever is shape, colour, coat. Then wha...

Re: Cluck Cluck Cluck!

Wow- hi! Yes I remember you. I have chickens and introduce them to Tess from day one. Firstly through her pen and theirs and the patio doors and on a lead. When she was a bit calmer we started having her on a lead with them out and would use a clicker to click and treat when she looked at us not the...
