Barking!

Right in general Roker is a complete star and very little trouble at all but we're having an issue when he is out in the garden and for our sanity, the sanity of the neighbours and with a little one on the way i could do with nipping it in the bud really. Where we are both neighbours have dogs and t...

Re: stupid question about crates

This may sound like a stupid suggestion for your stupid question  but is it possible to turn the crate upside down so whats the top is then the bottom as wouldnt this turn the doors round as well? Not sure what crate you have so not sure if its an option. Its about 2yrs since we had Roker in h...

Re: Potentially a new doodle owner

hi...this thread may be worth a read, its the "i'm looking at getting a labradoodle" thread i started a few years ago but most of the advice will still stand - http://www.labradoodle.org.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=29101 We went for a medium chocolate brown boy but to be honest the boy bit was just how...

Kings Head, Thirlmere, Lake District

Just back from a few days up in the Lake District stopping in the Kings Head at Thirlmere. Nice pub\hotel place with decent ales and food and they were more than happy to take in Roker...in fact there were a few dogs there over the course of the weekend including 2 other labradoodles none of which l...

Re: Pampered Pooch

Yep the throw the towel over him as quickly as possible is the current approach and works to an extent. Dry him as much as possible then the shake after that isnt to bad. He actually quite likes the towel covering him after a shower i think as a throwback to getting hosed down outside with cold wate...

Re: Pampered Pooch

Anyone looking for a new car....

....could be worth waiting to see if Nissan go ahead and make this!!!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vHPqLWb6PLs

Would be perfect for Roker who insists on waiting until he is in the boot of my car before shaking off when wet and muddy!!

Re: Crate and collar advice

In terms of collars i picked up a cheap one from Sainsburys to start with that was fine as i was told not to spend a lot on one as a good chance they will try chewing it as they get used to it. Turns out he didnt and we still have it now as a back up collar for when his others are being washed from ...

Re: Wonderful Dog friendly hotel in devon

If its the one i've just found via google they have this on their front page :- BLAGDON MANOR WILL BE CLOSING ON JANUARY 29th 2017. During our 16 years at Blagdon Manor we have met some truly wonderful people and made some rather treasured friends whom will remain forever in our hearts. After a long...

Re: Pampered Pooch

The only problem i'm seeing so far is the post shower shake down but not sure a shower curtain will be much use to stop it. It will be better once the utility room is fitted out with some worktops around the washer and dryer and covers a chunk of the wall. I suspect we'll not be as fussed once its l...

Re: Pampered Pooch

It's certainly a change from the hosepipe off the outside tap. He wasn't sure what to make of it earlier on its first use but think the warm water won him over. Just need to figure a plan out for when he shakes after covering the freshly painted walls!!

Re: LOST Female doodle OSMOTHERLEY Northallton

If i'm up there i will do although we tend to be out the other way at Old Brampton etc now we're back home after the building work. I will definitely tell my in laws to keep an eye out though as they have Roker on a fairly regular basis and my father in law takes him out quite a bit and may see him.

Re: LOST Female doodle OSMOTHERLEY Northallton

Wonderful news that Soot was reunited with her family. Let's hope that we can say the same for Murphy, missing in our area since before Christmas.... He's a Patterdale and has been sighted but not caught... I don't think that his family know about DogLost. They're with Dog Tag.. If any members are ...

Re: Recall

Our dog trainer suggested along the lines of making something more fun or interesting than the other thing so we've basically got to the point now where on a walk his ball is basically everything to him, in fact any time playing with a ball is his number 1 thing to do in life. In the right places he...
