Any ideas what this is?

We're back from France, eventually after a breakdown, and Roker spent yesterday at my parents house as he does once or twice a week. Whilst away he's been fine eating well, up and about but with regular spells of just laying around as it was 30c+ at times. On arriving home he was tired but thats not...

Re: Car Seat cover from Aldi

I had an old seat cover that i used in the boot of our Insignia estate that died a death and my mum spotted the ones in Aldi so picked one up for me. Whilst its meant to be a seat cover its a good fit for the boot of my car and keeps the worst of the stuff out....it currently needs a good clean mind...

Re: Dudes French "cousin"!

I think the cabins are for the longer crossings. We normally do Dover - Calais which is an hour tops and on that Roker has to stay in the car. I just have him out of the car to the very last minute on the deck then he has a chew bone type thing and water in the boot and we try to make sure we are se...

Re: Dudes French "cousin"!

We've been planning on taking our doods to France... I do so hope that the rules don't change due to 'Brexit'.... Anne, Ianto & Wyre x I've seen some scare stories doing the rounds on Facebook and alike but as it stands there is no change and i've not seen anything about it being likely to change. ...

Re: Dudes French "cousin"!

Interesting re the poo picking up...a lot of France they love dogs so much they just leave it despite dispensers with free poo bags. I actually got thanked by a local fed up with it when I picked up after roker. That time he was poorly was our fault for underestimating how hot it was. He has his "Fr...

Re: Dudes French "cousin"!

Its a very refreshing attitude to our 4 legged friends. Over here when you tick the pets allowed box for hotels the number shrinks massively, over there its just a very small number and like you say they happily let dogs in restaurants etc. First night with him in Arromanches we asked at one place f...

Re: Dudes French "cousin"!

You should try taking a labradoodle to France....they have no idea what to make of them especially when you explain that they are part poodle, part labrador! Roker has been twice now and gets loads of attention from people.

Re: Scruffy doodles and grooming

Roker is definitely a scruffy doodle and we have him cut probably a couple of times a year but one is a proper trim really short so he copes with the warm temperatures in France better and that tends to do him right past xmas until March time when he normally needs another tidy up but nothing like a...

Re: Pet friendly holidays?

Probably the wrong side of the country for you but we got to North Yorkshire with Roker a lot and always find it really dog friendly. We spend a lot of time around Scarborough\Robin Hoods Bay and stop at this place :- http://www.meadowbeckholidaycottages.co.uk/ Used them 4 or 5 times now and always ...

Re: Puppy overheating? Worried

Definitely helps to have the coat clipped....Roker has his done really short before we got to the south of France each summer. For the really hot days he has a cool coat as well which helps massively.

Re: Do you work full time?

Roker is definitely not a morning Doodle....i got up one morning last week and he was no where to be seen, had a shower and by the time i was out Roker was on our bed, head on pillow fast asleep again! This morning i wandered into the dining room and looked into the conservatory where his settee is,...

Worth taking a doodle to the seaside on holiday if only to see them on a beach and in the sea...its a sight to behold!!

Re: Do you work full time?

Hi Thanks for your reply and the vote of confidence! I was starting to worry about leaving him, we left him for 45 minutes the other day and he cried twice for 3 minutes at a time (we left this app running on my phone that records noise) so at least he wasn't howling the place down for the full 45 ...

Re: Do you work full time?

We both work full time and have done since we got Roker just over 2 years ago. What helps us is that i'm only a mile from home so go home to see him at lunchtime and he spends my lunch hour outside etc. Where we are now he has run of a good chunk of the house plus his "room" with all his stuff in wh...

Re: Then and now!

By the way I was counting up how many walks we've done. We got Moll at ten weeks so up to her 6th birthday that's 2,100 days, times 3 walks per day = 6,300 walks , and on almost every walk I speak to at least one other dog owner. (Pre-Moll I would not have spoken to any of them.) It's good to know ...
