Re: Early rising

Yes I can see definite similarities from some of your posts. The boys eventually settled on the hall floor with all their bedding in a pile in the kitchen doorway. I didn't hear a sound until the alarm at 5.18. (I am moving it 1 min per day) The beds were in the same place and intact. I am cautiousl...

Re: Early rising

I keep saying that to myself -this too shall pass. I have sent another sample off to see if the lung worm has cleared. It should be back Friday. I can hear Echo emptying his crate so I had better go and stop the destruction of bed 4. I fear it could be a long night.

Re: Early rising

I thought that I had removed all noisy toys and left just 2 kongs. The squeeky bone was under the drawers and both dogs can't ever get anything from under there they just sit and bark till I get down and get it out. The night wasn't a complete disaster. Echo left bed and vet bed in his crate....

Re: Early rising

The boys are both in their crates with the door open and I am upstairs. When I say in their crates, Echo is wandering round barking occasionally and Whisper is playing with a squeeky toy! This could be a long night. (I tried Iantos sugestion, Whisper with the door open and Echo crated but Echo barke...

Re: Early rising

Small success to report, we have moved the alarm from 5 to 5.15 . I get up and have coffee before getting the boys up and letting them out. Then I feed them and they go out again. Now at 6. 30 they are both fast asleep!! I am considering leaving the crates open but do have concerns about it. Whisper...

Re: Early rising

They are just 12 months. I would happily leave them to bark / whine in the morning if I didn't have neighbours who complain. It could well be just coincidence that they have started getting up early and have just completed their lungworm treatment. They have 2 meals a day breakfast and tea (6am and ...

Early rising

Since their treatment for lungworm my 2 have decided that between 4.45 and 5 am is the best time to get up. They have slept from 10 pm until 6am since they arrived here at 8 weeks old (I did get up in the night for the first few weeks) I tried covering their crates, leaving the radio on and a couple...

Re: Dog lungworm

I can't recommend them highly enough. Simple to use - just collect poo. Send it back to them and within 24 hours the intestinal worm count results are emailed back, the lung worm count takes another 24 hours but the results are e mailed just the same. The results are simple to understand. If the tes...

Re: Dog lungworm

I have just stocked up on kits, these 2 are costing me a fortune at the moment! I spare no expense for my slugs, Asda Smart Price bitter - 4 cans for 89p. I doubt that anyone would be tempted to drink it themselves. It is working though I collected about 50 when I went into the garden last night whi...

Re: Dog lungworm

The boys have completed their course of Panacur and I will re test in a couple of weeks. They are not showing any symptoms so I hope we caught it early. I always bring toys in when the dogs come in and if any do get missed they are washed before the dogs can have them again. I have set slug traps (b...

Dog lungworm

On a whim I decided to send samples to wormcount.com for analysis. Boy am I glad I did. Neither of my boys have worms so that is good but Echo has tested positive for dog lungworm (Oslerus osleri) Whisper is clear. They are both clear of Fox lungworm and French Heartworm. He is showing no signs of a...

Re: Puzzle

Echo made it though the night without an issue. He wolfed down his breakfast and then regurgitated part of it!!! I am not sure if it was the later suppper or the increased amount that did the trick or if he had just managed to get rid of the junk that he had eaten. I will keep the later supper and t...

Re: Puzzle

Both boys have supper before bed. I have increased Echo's tonight in the hope I can get a nights sleep. It is just so odd that it is exactly 2am when he barks!

Puzzle

Echo has been sick the last three nights at exactly 2 am. He is fine in himself eating normally and pooing normally playing normally. Nothing in his life has changed - food routine etc. He brings up froth, last night there were some foreign objects (bits of silver foil, grass and other unidentifiabl...

Re: Grooming Help

Thanks for the tips and the encouragement. I doubt that my groomer would be happy at letting me spend the day with him. . I will have a look to see if they are any courses near by.
