Re: A scare

My boy was walking nicely by my side (training class is finally paying off) The Geman Shepherd came tearing across teath bared. I didn't get the impression that he wanted to play. I am just about to set out on the same walk so it will be interesting to see how he reacts. I will be carrying my new wa...

A scare

I was walking one of my boys this morning and a lady with a German Shepherd type dog was coming the other way with her dog on an extending lead. He spotted my boy and stopped the lady tried to move him but failed and then the dog lay down. I debated turning back or going on with my walk. I decided t...

Re: Puppy Socialization Classes - A Disaster!

We have just successfully completed an 8 week puppy class. The trainers were really good and encouraging. I didn't agree with everything that they said. They work on the principal that you can't say no to a dog, you ignore the negative and praise the positive which is an excellent in theory ...

Re: Afraid Of The Rain

I have two 6 month old doodles who refuse to go out in the rain. They look out of the open door and then turn round and try to wee on the kitchen floor. I have now learnt to attach their leads and drag them out for a wee. It is surprising that the act is 10 times as quick on a wet day as on a dry da...

Re: Probiotics

Hi Alice, I have 2 Labradoodle puppies who are now 22 weaks. They had tummy issues when I first had them at 8 weeks old. Our vet prescribed antibiotics prokolin paste and a bland diet. The problem didn't clear up as we later found out by trial and error and lots of intent searching that they were gr...

Re: Puppy Class

The puppies are worked on a 1-2-1 basis as my partner works with one while I work with the other. They were so disinterested in each other yesterday that the class leader had no idea that they were together. We do have them off leads in our garden and have done since we had them at 8 weeks. The gard...

Puppy Class

I took my 2 to puppy class for the first time yesterday - the owners had to go without the puppies the week before. I feared the worst - they would run amok and cause havoc. I was pleasantly surprised. They behaved reasonably well  The home work from week 1 was to get the puppies to sit, watc...

Re: Seaside Adventure.

We went to Telacre. (Just along the coast from Prestatyn) I doubt that I will get back this year. I have a shop and don't get much time off but I can take the puppies to work with me so it isn't all bad. The sand has not compacted the inner workings of Whisper he has pooed plenty since we got back! ...

Seaside Adventure.

I have just returned from a trip to the seaside. I live in Cheshire so popped off to the N Wales coast - Telacre. I have two 18 week old puppies. They travelled really well in the car, no noise no fuss. Once on the beach they splashed in the sea and dug holes on the beach until the tide came in. One...

Re: Flea and worm treatments

I had though about starving them amd if they were older I would but at 12 weeks I wonder if that is too drastic. I have been giving them some probiotic powder along with the boiled chicken and rice. I am becoming poo obsessed :D but I do think that things are improving slightly. Let's hope the worst...

Flea and worm treatments

On Friday I took my puppies for their 12 week flea and worm treatment.(the first on I have taken them for) The vet gave them each a Droncit tablet and Advocate spot on flea treatment. Since giving these on Friday both the puppies have had colitis symptoms (bright red blood in their poo). Sorry to an...

Re: Splashing

Paddling pool duly collected from Argos. I put it outside, filled it with water and let the dogs out to play. They loved it. These are the same 2 puppies who were very reluctant to go out this morning as there was a bit of drizzle in the air! Strange things dogs :D Let's hope we get some summer to s...

Re: Splashing

I have just reserved a sand pit / paddling pool from Argos. Maybe they will play outside in that rather than inside. Somehow I doubt it though. I am sure that they will do both :D You have got to love them though!

Splashing

Can anyone suggest why my 2 puppies have taken to paddling in their water bowls? I have the bowl on a raised stand. They have drunk from it nicely for the first 2 weeks but now all they do is splash it all over the kitchen floor. I am at my wits end with them. I have lost count of the number of time...

Time flies

I can't believe that I have had my 2 boys for 2 weeks now. Life has changed dramatically. I seem to spend my whole day feeding, picking up poo or playing with them. It is fascinating to see their different personalities develop. I took the advice given to my initial post and got 2 crates. Life is ea...
