Re: We've survived the first few weeks

Hi Patterpaws! I have been wondering how you were getting on! Mabel is absolutely gorgeous. We are in bitey phase too... But the phase where she was ripping the children's clothes seems to have stopped.... for now!

Re: Pet insurance

Cancelled my Petplan policy today and also went with More Than. Saved £6 a month and have a better policy.

One of the reasons I choose Petplan were because my vet endorsed them. Then I had to pop into her office and saw all the certificates for members of the surgery being 'petplan top sellers'!

Re: Pet insurance

Apparently Petplan aren't supposed to increase like other insurers. When I did an online application I got a cheaper quote but apparently I had picked the wrong type of dog - I selected mix breed instead of crossbread. Mix would have been cheaper!

Re: Pet insurance

I am think life time covers are the best. We have just taken out an insurance for Bee for lifetime cover with Petplan. It's £36 a month for the lowest level which I think is very expensive....

Re: Running with your Dood...

Hi. I used to run with my previous Labrador. I can’t help with the maturity bit as I started when she was 6. She loved it. I would always go somewhere she could be off lead and she would mainly do her own thing and catch me up every once in a while. If we were near roads I would lead her obviously b...

Re: What food do you feed your doodle?

Our pup is on Simpsons. She was fed that by the breeder but comes out looking pretty good on that dog food website so I will keep her on that for now. her poo's are of a very good consistancy.

I have heard wonderful things about Canagans and McAdams.

Re: Puppy getting rough - any advice appreciated

Thank you everyone. We are following your advice and putting an immediate stop to it. Yesterday, we had some friends over for a BBQ and she was like it with their little ones as soon as they stepped in the door. They weren't flapping around as they were being shy hiding behind their parents. I think...

Puppy getting rough - any advice appreciated

Our puppy Bee (12 weeks) is playful but a good girl with everyone except my daughter, aged 5. It’s crossed a line over the last few days from being playful (albeit a bit over playful) to being quite dominant. My daughter is calm around her, doesn’t flap about or run about and tries to distract her w...

Re: People shy

I am no expert on this by a long shot but perhaps he could do more stuff with you and her together so she could grow used to him. He could come round for coffee once a week with a load of treats in his pocket and come on some walks with you both. That sort of thing. Hopefuly she will come to like him.

Re: 1 week in....

You must be so excited! I'm sure the fluffiness will come. Bee is 12 weeks on Monday so she's had longer for it to grow! She's been a star, just taken everything in her stride. It's almost like she's been on the planet before. Everyone thinks she's quite big but she isn't really, she just has an awf...
