Raw Bones

Can anyone help clear up some things around raw bones for dogs chew on. I thought it was ok to give a raw bones such a knuckle bone from your butcher to your dog as long as you threw is away within a reasonable time to avoid bacteria growth. However, I have read things on-line that tell me otherwise...

Re: Meet our new baby

13 days and counting! Absolutely can’t wait. No, we don’t have far to go as the crow flies but it’s out into the Fens so the roads are a bit iffy. They make me feel a bit sick let alone a puppy so lots of news paper, towels and wipes to hand. I did a huge order on Zooplus and Amazon and re-arranged ...

Re: Puppy out and about and needing to wee

Ah, from one puppy obsessed person to another! I am not sure about the car thing either. Somebody has just given us a car crate but it’s not very big. She will travel in the boot too and I suppose they may as well get used to is as with kids there won’t be room on the back seat. So much to think abo...

Re: Puppy out and about and needing to wee

Oh yes, they will all be short trips. I took my old dog everywhere with me and she was bomb proof. But I don't think she ever needed to go in the times we were out but then again it was so long ago I've definitely forgotten!

Re: Grass and bones

My old lab loved eating grass. I was once told that they ate to settle their tummies but I think she just enjoyed it.

Re: Early rising

I've no advice but feel your pain. My daughter is a 5 am riser and if she's up I'm up. I've tried all sorts of training methods with her but to no avail. Hopefully dogs are easier to train that 5 year olds!

Re: Puppy out and about and needing to wee

Puppy pads is a good idea. I work at a train station so would like to take her there to show her what it's all about and because we will travel a bit on the train when she's bigger. Also want to take her on school runs, short walks and, of course, the local as they allow dogs and she will be visitin...

Puppy out and about and needing to wee

Obviously, I’m planning to do a lot of out and about socialisation with my puppy safely carried in my arms or handy sling I have just purchased. My question is - what do I do when she needs a wee? She won’t be fully vaccinated and I am aware of the all the risks of placing her on the ground where an...

Treats

Just wondering what treats you would recommend for a puppy. I would like to make my own but as a grab and go treat what do you use? I’ve been having a look about and some of them seem mighty expensive for not very many!

Re: Looking for a goldendoodle pup

One not so good thing for my OH... I chose one of his old T-shirts to take so when we bring her home she has something that smells of Mum. Although my husband was there he paid no attention to the T-shirt being handed over. It wasn't until yesterday when I saw him routing around in all things laundr...
