Re: First season and spaying?

Our vet advised spaying after the first season to reduce the risk of urinary incontinence later in life. That was our plan, but at 15 months we were still waiting. The vet had a look at her girlie bits and said she had already had her first season as she was mature. As we had no idea when that was (...

Re: help with rope leads please

Thanks everyone.
I didn't think it was possible for a lead to cost so much money but it does look good. Just need to find a way to sneak it in without OH seeing the bill!

help with rope leads please

Hi there

Can anyone recommend a good rope style lead please? I like this style as they can stuff into a pocket on walks but the ones I have had have frayed and come apart quickly.
I would like fairly long ones, don't mind expensive if they last!

Thanks again

Re: green dog food opinions please

Thanks everyone. As I have only heard good things I will give it a try. If marley will eat it on its own then any dog will as he is the biggest fuss pot ever!

green dog food opinions please

Hi there Following on from a few threads relating to anal glands recently, green dog food has been suggested as a possible solution. I would be interested in trying this with duffy and have ordered a sample. I see they only do dry food and duffy is not keen on dry food on its own, but would adding o...

Re: Sorry mini rant!!!

I agree don't see that vet again. We saw a vet last week when duffy was spayed who referred to her as "your animal" Won't be seeing him again. Re anal glands. Marley has his emptied by our vet every 4-6 weeks. We have tried added fibre and other food, but vet conclusion is that he has genetic...

Re: Bit of a smelly problem

Hi. The fish smell and licking his anus certainly indicates full anal glands. Marley has to have his emptied every 4-5 weeks by the vet or they risk becoming infected. THis is because his glands are further in than usual and he cannot empty them naturally as he does a poo as would normally happen. H...

Re: labradoodle

Apologies if I upset you. I found it strange that someone who has spent so many years with dogs and and allergies would know so little about shedding. There are time wasters on this site sometimes. Of course you do not have to take any advice you get on here but there are some very knowledgeable peo...

Re: labradoodle

Trina, labradoodles CAN be non-shedding, even lab/poodle crosses. I know one. Thought there would be someone who knew one :D Would you take the risk of recommending a labradoodle to someone looking for non shedding dog because of serious allergies? as already said by someone else labradoodle...

Re: labradoodle

not very helpful really  Can't point you in the direction of something that doesn't exist I'm afraid! People buy doodles believing all the rubbish they read about them being non shedding and end up having them re homed when they do shed. As already said golden doodles shed too so you have deci...
