She does look fairly big, as a comparison, Bruno was about 20lbs (9kg) at around 4 months.
At 1 year, he was about 68lbs (31kg), so he did A LOT of growing.

Now at adult weight, he is a steady 37kg (81lbs) which is nearly 6 stone and about 29" to his shoulders.

They do stay really close as pups. Believe it or not, when Bruno was a pup, we used to take him to the beach and let him run in the sea, he'd always come back and didn't wander too far from us.

I do think it's an age thing.
