Re: Stout went out without his bandana on today

I was going to email you to see how Stout's been doing. I hope he's okay after his yummy treat. Luckily Florrie isn't exactly friendly to strangers and once we explain she's nervous, they don't want to come near enough to feed her! She's harmless but does make a lot of noise which puts people off! :...

Re: Some of you were interested...

I haven't posted on here for a while but do check in regularly. I saw your post Liz and clicked the link and have been hooked every day since, checking out your poems! I think they're brilliant. My 3 year old niece LOVES animals, my sister is studying environmental and earth sciences at uni and want...

Re: Itchy Doodles

I was interested when I saw this when Bid first posted as Florrie's allergies had been pretty well controlled until a couple of weeks ago. I first noticed her skin was more crusty and flaky than usual for her and her ear flaps were really red and sore. She became really miserable too and not herself...

Re: A Bed Question for all you knowledgeable folk!

All 3 of ours love their Tuffies beds. Florrie's a bed chewer but didn't get anywhere with the Tuffy so gave up and never attempts to chew it now. Our old girl Sophie is 16 and a bit and the Tuffy is really firm and with the right cover is really warm and easy to wash. We put their covers in the was...

Re: Phoebe not well

I hope Phoebe is starting to feel better. I sympathise 100% as Florrie suffers from Gastritis as well as Inflammatory Bowel Disease, at the moment it is under control but it doesn't take much for it to flare up again. I find that Antepsin is brilliant, Florrie has been on all the meds phoebe is on b...

Re: Skin allergies and sickness

Florrie has allergies and is also cream. After months of her being incredibly poorly, daily vomiting and diarrhoea and malabsorbing her food, she is now fed an exclusive diet. She's on a vet diet but only because it's the only thing we've fed her (we've tried pretty much everything even raw) that do...

Re: Petition to ban the use of captive bolt to kill Greyhoun

I think this is shocking and barbaric. I recently went to an organic, bio-diverse farm as part of my college course. We had to visit the Abattoir as part of the trip and saw the use of Captive bolt first hand in the slaughter of cattle. The captive bolt does not actually kill the animal, it renders ...

Re: Anal Glands

Whenever Florrie gets an anal gland infection (which can be quite often), the vets empty them, flush them and then pack them with Surolan ear drops as they can be used for anal glands too. This is all done whilst she's awake as she's such a good girl, she just lets them do it. This process is repeat...

Re: Blood spots under skin. HELP!

Just thought I'd update you all. Florrie seems to be doing ok so far, she is still choking on her food but not often. She still seems a bit uncomfortable and is coughing a little bit, her bark sounds a bit odd atm too. Shes being a very good girl and has been taking her meds well, she LOVES her coug...

Re: Blood spots under skin. HELP!

Florrie's been at the vets all day and is now at home recovering. Shes still not quite with it and is currently asleep on the lounge floor. The vets have found that Florrie has quite a severe case of laryngitis made worse by the flaps that they have that go over the larynx. She also has slight bronc...

Re: Blood spots under skin. HELP!

Florrie's blood results came back today and she's in the lowest range of normal for everything to do with her blood. She is very much borderline so we're still not sure as to whats going on. Her rash is still there and is no better still. Shes going in tomorrow to have an anaesthetic to investigate ...

Re: Blood spots under skin. HELP!

Thanks for all your replies, really appreciate it.

Florrie still seems ok in herself, her rash is still there but its no worse than it was which is good I guess.

Its just a case of waiting on the test results now.
