chicken-pox buddies

I thought this was too cute not to share! Immi and dylan spent the majority of the day cuddled under the duvet on the sofa as our small ape is of school with chicken pox.

Re: Piddle-pants

It's a natural canine behavior of excited and submissive dogs, it affects all breeds. It is usually exhibited when greeting a pack-leader figure. Immi does it occasionally if i am away overnight, and only when greeting me.

Re: Any ideas why she does this?

Immi does the complete opposite. She takes all her toys out of her toy basket and leaves them all over the place! Come to think on it, she does like to copy our 4yr old son and he leaves his toys strewn all over the house!

Re: Always choose a bigger bed..

Looks very comfy! Immi loves our bed too, she waits for us to fall asleep then sneaks up like a daft ninja, then inch by inch takes over the bed!

Re: Doodle size.

I'd hazard guess she'll be of medium build, similar to our Immi. Height and weight aren't always in proportion either, doods being a crossbreed have a particularly diverse range of builds. Immi is only 18.5kg but she stands at 22 inches to the shoulder. We've met doods 6" shorter but of the same wei...

Re: Now what does this mean? Spooky!

Perhaps she is just implying she wants replacements. Immi would just swallow those bits whole!

Re: spaying

After doing my own research I decided to have Immi done 3 months after her first season. There are both behavioural and biological reasons. Estrogen is believed to play a role in the maturation process, by preventing bones (particularly upper leg bones) from becoming too long thereby contributing to...

Re: Hoover and peeing?!

I suspect he went to his bed because it's his safe-place. Hoover phobia is one of the most common fears amongst pets. He probably didn't want to leave his safe-place, hence him peeing there when his fear got the better of him. Perhaps you can start positively reinforcing the vacuum experience with t...

There are some folk on the forum who's dogs were over 18 months by the time they had the first season.

Re: Rat's! Yuck!

Please never ever use poison. Rats are low on the food chain, meaning other animals feed on them and also consume the poison. Cats, foxes, hawks, kestrels and owls can be affected by the poison too. Pest control companies will tell you it is unlikely, but I have personally seen owls brought into wil...

Re: First Season

Immi's first season was at ten months. It was preceded by a false season, in which the swelling and discharge was minimal, the actual season was much more profound! Typically she was at Scruffy Tales for the week while we were on our hols. Sarah and Carolyn were fab with it though! In order to benef...

Re: Pros and cons of owning a doodle please

Hello, welcome to the site. I think you'll find pretty much everyone on this site believe the pros absolutely outweigh the cons. Doodles are wonderful dogs. I think some of the pros might be cons or vice versa depending on your perspective. They are highly active and extremely energetic, so they req...

Re: Alabama Rot!???

It's scary! It's made me paranoid because Immi has an unexplained graze type injury on her leg that appeared a couple of days ago. She probably just caught it on something in the woods while dashing, but I might just take her to the vets to assuage my paranoia, even though we haven't been near the a...
