Re: Does anyone else have an over sensitive/caring doodle

Immi, although being a complete stark raving bouncing nutter, is also incredibly sensitive to my health. She knows before I do if a seizure is coming, she rests her head on my lap and just stares at me. A few months ago I had a really bad one, and she would not leave my side or stop whining for abou...

Re: How do you put up with the drippy beard?

Immi wipes her beard on the sofa if I don't catch her first with some kitchen paper towel  I can't bring myself to trim her beard, I love it!

Re: Very poorly cat

How horrible! What poison do they suspect? I lost a young cat to what we suspect was poisoning a good few years ago. One thing I was shocked to learn was that a common form of cat poisoning can come from your own home or garden, in the form of lilly pollen. If they get it on their fur and groom them...

Re: Food thief in the house!

I've not posted in ages, been hovering though. I couldn't resist posting on this thread though! Immi is the ultimate food thief, the only time food is safe is when it is on mine or my wife's plate. No-one else is safe! The amount of times she has taken sweets from little children and food from the e...

Re: Immi's been spayed

Thanks for the well wishes Maggie and Tracey. What an excellent idea Maggie, great tip. I dug out an old summer baby gro-bag which is a perfect fit. She was so unimpressed by the cone of shame that she refused to sit down, lay down or even move! But with the doctored gro-bag she seems quite happy. H...

Immi's been spayed

Hi folks! It's been months since my last visit to the site, I banned myself from using the internet so I concentrate on work. But I really need a bit of advice from you guys! Immi was spayed yesterday, I was so worried about her! My son also started primary school and I know I should have been worri...

Re: Cheshire - Marbury Park 19th May

Hi Kathy, I've been rather busy of late and haven't had much time to spare. We are good thanks, Immi has finally stopped attracting every male within a hundred yards so it should be safe to take her into an area with lots of other dogs! I'm sorry to hear of poor Jazz's foot, sounds nasty! Dave, our ...

Cheshire - Marbury Park 19th May

This Sunday there is a family fun dog show at Marbury Park near Northwhich. We'll be heading over to take Immi for a walk and have a wander around the various displays and shows. It sounds a lot of fun. So if you are up for it we will be getting there for 11. Here's the link: http://www.willowsvetgr...

Re: Di-estrus issues

Thanks michala, that's really reassuring. I'll stick to the local fields and avoid parks and other busy places for a couple more weeks, then give the park a go and how the males respond.

Re: Di-estrus issues

Yeah it was a shame, Immi was desperate to play. We tried hanging back with her on the lead but every time we caught up a bit Doug was trying to mount her (which was a little comical as he's so tiny  ) but just before the lake she growled at him so we thought it best to head back before she got...

Di-estrus issues

So Immi's season ended two weeks ago, swelling went down and discharge ceased before then even. Since then she has had some really thorough baths and grooming sessions. So she is in di-estrus now, which I understand lasts between 60-90 days, and her progesterone levels should be slightly increased d...

Re: So why did you get a doodle?

Simple answer is that we wanted a bubbly friendly family dog that would mix well with other pets and kids, and scruffy fur was also an essential element. Labradoodle fitted the bill perfectly.
