Just come back from walking the dogs tonight , abd a large-ish lab x rottie was in the park. It saw Tilly, came running over, tail up, hackles up, growling - flew on Tilly's back and tried to put her on the floor and attack her.
Fourtunately - she wasn't having any of it!!
She turned around, snarled, grabbed the dog's muzzle and after a few seconds struggle, put the dog's head on the ground. I called her and she walked away.
The other dog slouched off with it's tail down. The owner apologized and said "Thank you for teaching my dog a lesson - he's a nightmare"
She then proceeded to let it off the lead to chase a collie pup

Some people will never learn!

Goodness  , I’m glad Tilly is ok :) . Such a shame some owners allow this, as it isn’t Tilly job to teach him a lesson :? . Hope you weren’t to shaken.

Good for Tilly!!
Must have been a worry for you though
Some owners really need to realise the potential dangers they are putting their own dogs in.

Stupid woman!! That enrages me soooo much!!
One day that dog will bite a child! My brother's calm rottie had a bad day once and bite the face of a child visiting his house.
The Rottie up to that point had not so much even growled at a person before..
The child had to have numerous stitches in her face and my brother's dog had to be destroyed..
Just goes to show how unpredictable dogs can be at times. My poor brother was devastated for the little girl who is now scarred for life at the age of 7, but also because he had to lose his beloved dog..

Well done to Tilly Tubbie for standing her ground with the bully!!
Daise xxx

Daise - that must have been awful for the little girl - not to mention your brother!! :( :(

To be honest, if it's a little scrap like that, I rarely get worried any more. Of course I will attempt to stop it, and I know owners should be in control of their dogs, but I think that if once in a while Tilly is allowed to put a dog in it's place, it's healthy - 'spech after one has a go at her like that!!
