Just thought I'd ask on here how people store their dog food? Went to a stables with my friend and her horse food bin looked marvellous.

I've just ordered a MASSIVE bag of food (they don't do a smaller size) so it'd be great to store it outside. I was considering something like this... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/80-85-LITRE-G ... 3367f41a5c

Looks good. I have something similar but the lid is firmly fitted on a bit like an icecream tub lid and is really hard to get off once sealed on properly. Might consider one of these instead as the lid looks much easier to use. xx

I store my Orijen In the bag it comes in rolled down tight in a pets at home large storage container. I also use a large lock and lock container and use that till empty and then fill up again.I store mine indoors, but I have a large Pantry.

My new bag of orijen came in perfect condition sealed tight and square. :)

Oh yes I suppose I should say that we got a biscuit barrel from John Lewis that Hubs dishwashered and isn't completely airtight any more  But it makes for an excellent counter-top dog food container. So easy to clip and unclip and stores a lot of food. Looks pretty too! The 3.5l is the big biscuit one.

I laughed out loud when I saw this post as I was about to go to B&Q and buy a bin for dog food storage after an incident this weekend
Let me explain. Jazz is 5 months old mini doodle and very food oriented. At one point yesterday I though she was with my husband in the house and he thought she was with me in the garden but no she was head first in her big sisters food bag and had been probably for about 20 minutes
I had to pull her out by her bottom and her tummy was huge !!!
All yesterday evening she f**ted for Britain and we had to open the windows and then positively exploded from her rear end in the back garden at least 3 times !!! yuk - she enjoyed herself though

I have just ordered one of these bins online 5 minutes ago - thanks for the info !!
Kathy

The bins on e look great and very reasonable. I store my dog food ina pets at home bin (http://www.petsathome.com/shop/dog/dog- ... torage/bay ) as I wanted it in the kitchen and rather than being round it is oblong so fits better next to the door. They are pricey but it has been fantastic. It has 2 openings- one tales the top off so that you can load the food. The second is smaller for when you just want to scoop a portion out. Hope you find the right one for you :D
Oh and I actually got the one with the birds on it (for bird food -still holds 15 kbag) as I didn't want one with pictures of other dogs on it

We've got the Curver bin from Pets at Home. Having wheels it makes it easy to move when cleaning.

The whole lid lifts on a hinge for loading and this has a rubber seal and lock to seal it. There is a smaller lid within the main lid that clips down and has a clip for a supplied scoop.

We've had it now over 2 years and are still very pleased with it. Holds in excess of 15 kg.

Glad to report that Jazz's bottom is less lethal now all that food has passed through !!
I am amazed that the bin I ordered yesterday arrived at 0800 this morning and is just the ticket. I have emptied two 15 kg bags of food into it - locked that lid and smiling with satisfaction as two very miffed doodles looked on in dismay

Brilliant!! It seems I recommended it but now I get other people to tell me it's good before I buy it! Going to buy 2 today - I only really need one but gah! I can't help it!
