Post by sammylou » 26 Sep 2012, 22:12

I can't believe it! I thought we had a sensible dood
At the grand age of 2years 9months he rolled in fox poo for the first time! Dirty dog!! having used ketchup on our other dog on a few occasions, I decided it was DH's turn! Especially as he was in dirty works clothes, to ketchup him! :D
Here he is

Alfie rolls in it all the time, does ketchup deter them from rolling in it or just get rid of the horrible smell? It would be great to find something that stops him doing it, it drives us mad!! Oh and do you have to wash the ketchup off afterwards?

Thanks

He does look well behaved! Barney's also not a rolling in mud type - which is lucky because I'm sure he'd try and eat the ketchup rather than staying calm and letting us wash him!!

   Nice one Herbert! I think it's a cream doodle special, as Daze does it as well - usually straight after a bath!

It's the vinegar that stops them from smelling quite as bad, and I've found that apple cider vinegar works just as well, and has the added bonus of not turnng a cream doodle pink!

I think I prefer your approach though - getting someone else to do it!

Apparently, companies like HP are struggling as less people are using these kinds of sauces - could this be the poster for a new add campaign?

The sad truth is by making my husband do it, he didn't do it properly and I still had to put him in the bath (didn't do behind and under his ears and collar) yes the ketchup works wonders rub it in like shampoo and rince it out, but I think preamps I should buy a cheaper brand if we are going to be doing this often LOL.
We have been lucky with him so far, not rolling in it. And I have to say he generally is a very good dog <3 unlike the husband who I think purposely did a rubbish bathing job
