No doubt promoting his tour - there is going to be an inordinate amount of backlash to this. Please support.

I think they changed the way it runs this afternoon. It is an open group. Can you not see a request to join? Have to say I don't see it on the page but maybe because that is because I have already joined.

Gone from 300 this morning to 1300.

Despite the fact that have never watched the Alan Titchmarsh show, I am certainly opposed to CM getting any airtime on TV. Thanks for sharing, I've shared the page on FB.

Pardon my ignorance, I've clearly not seen enough of CM's programs.
What does he do to generate so much opposition ?

He uses averse and negative reinforcement methods of training, like dog hanging/choking, abdominal kicking, shock collars, extreme dominance based on alpha reinforcement to name a few problems. Check out this video of his abdominal kicking method http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dSkYVwZK ... ata_player He claims this is not kicking, that it is a "touch." It blatantly causes distress, the man is deluded if he considers himself an animal whisperer, dogs don't kick each other in the abdomen, and they only force another dog onto its back when there is intent to injure or kill. It does not relax a dog as he claims, it is forced submission and the dog submisses in fear of its life. Try that with the wrong dog and you could be seriously injured, not to mention the fact that you are teaching your dog to fear you. Fear causes predictability, and and unpredictable dog is a dangerous dog. I could go on about this for ages, but I'll cease my rant ;)

I didn't want to comment on the other thread. I have joined this group, although by now it is a bit pointless I'd like join a big showing of support against Cesar.

For me, regardless of whether Cesar's methods work with dogs (I happen to think he has an aura dogs respond to) I believe that he, and the show are completely irresponsible for teaching the general public some awful cruel ridiculous DIY dog training.

Someone with an aggressive or out of control dog, buying his books and watching is TV show shouldn't randomly start jabbing their dogs, using choke chains etc etc. I know it'll have the disclaimer "Don't Try This At Home" but people will ignore that.

The people using these methods are probably already slightly hopeless - not having a good authority with dogs, completely missing signals, not understanding dog behaviour or dog talk. A little bit of "pseudo science" from Cesar and suddenly these hopeless souls are kicking their dogs and thinking it's going to improve things. Really, all they'll end up doing is kicking their already stressed dogs and using a choke chain, dragging it up and down the park causing serious damage.

Anyone who isn't hopeless with dogs should really know better.

Way to go Gav - and you did all that on your phone! :)

Thanks - you put it well. There is somone on the Facebook support page who has been collating anything and everything to show his mistreatment of animals - there are loads and loads of links.
Here it is:
