We have that problem with a fleecy black blanket that lives on the sofa, the times we've mistaken it for rig, or not spotted him on it

Jackie,
Nice rug, but it seems to have a ruckle in it - suggest you shake it out and put it straight!
We have an Orvis (bear) footstool and whenever I see it in the study (one place Ianto is banned from due to the cream carpet...) I have a minor heart attack...

We have a brown version of that rug. I do sometimes loose stout on the black fleece blanket on the bed.

We did a market at a garden centre once. Stout came with us. He was sleeping just at the end of the table. He had a stretch just as a lady walked past who had a ducky fit as she thought he was a rug
Cheers,

We have the same issue when Tia lies at the bottom of the stairs, and don't mention losing her outside at night - out favourite phrase is 'whose mad idea was it to get a black dog'.

Maybe I should have gotten a golden doodle instead. Or gotten a different color Labradoodle. Only one problem I love black dogs and Molly is no exception ;-)★♡
