Douglas is home!!
Hello all,
I am very pleased to report that Douglas came home from hospital today! YAY !!!!!! He seems very, very happy to be back with us, and has been lying very still in the way that kids do when they should be in bed, kind of 'if I keep very quiet they might not send me back'. It looks like it's going to be a long haul. His right back leg is pretty much not working and he's much less mobile than he was after his first fce, but they hope and anticipate that he will get back on all four legs in time, although 'may not be the athlete he once was' - he never really ever was, to be fair! We're busy setting up physio for him. Please cross everything available and send positive thoughts that this won't happen again. Thanks.

Welcome home, Douglas! You must be so relieved, Poll, to have him back where he belongs...
Once he starts physio, you'll see improvements I'm sure... Ianto goes fortnightly and it's done him the power of good. Has your vet sorted hydro/treadmill sessions for him? Being able to exercise in water should help your lad too.
Fingers and toes firmly crossed that all goes well and that Douglas makes a full recovery. For now, I'm guessing that just having him home is enough...

Pleased to hear you have him back. Everything crossed for no more events. Positive thoughts that physio will make a real difference. When we were doing the physio on Rio, our vet said that, daft as it sounds, sometimes you have to remind them that they have a leg that they can use, as after an injury they sort of forget it's there.
