Odd behaviour

Post by casa42 » 23 Jul 2015, 08:04

Hi, I'm after some advice please. After a week of ignoring our new 9 week old Cockapoo. Coco has decided she likes him, in fact she is letting him attempt to suckle off her. She is a four year old spayed bitch who has never been bred from. I am unsure if I should ignore his attempts or try to stop him, any ideas?

Hello there

We had the same problem with Yoshi trying to suckle off Coco (spayed and 11 months) when we first brought Yoshi home. We did try and stop it as although Coco didn't seem to mind, it made her nipple quite sore. I would try and discourage it for this reason.

Enjoy the time as it goes so fast.

Thanks for the response. They have spent most of the day playing and she is starting to tell him off a bit now. I am really enjoying him although he is still at the nippy stage.
