Seasonal Grass seed warning to new owners

A very timely reminder! Our son was here at the weekend and about to clean Dudes ears when, lifting the ear flap he found one of those pointy grass seeds heading down!! He pulled it out easily, but it was a reminder to me to check more carefully every day!!

I found a lump on my Stanley's front leg last night, the size of a nipple, when I looked further he had grass seeds embedded in his skin we managed to get them out with a pair of tweezers, very lucky we found them before they got really stuck in. Just wish I had seen this post earlier. I came back on here for advice about this after years of absence

Our hydrotherapist's dog developed an awful ulcer on her hind leg... it was a huge hole! They now think that a grass seed entered via her mouth and then worked it's way through her body before ending up in her hind leg... Fortunately, she has now recovered but it's an eye-opener...

Bumping this up as once again it's the dreaded grass seed season
.Dawlish Warren is particularly bad this year with an abundance of spikey seeds everywhere.

It doesn't have to be the spiky seeds either - one of my customers dogs is poorly atm having inhaled a seed while running through the grass with her mouth open! She is on ABs for a chest problem.
