Hi Mike

Had the same problem with my dog Doodles. If you get your vet to phone the BVA they will explain to him/her that they are able to do it.

I've just been on the BVA website and the bms score for Labradoodles is 13 as of the 01/01/2006.
Hope your dog has a low score.
Good luck and happy breeding. :D

HI Mike you can use your microchip number or if you dog is registered with the Companion DogClub it only cost £10 for life. Ideally a dog should be scored at 1 year old as the older they get the worse the score Good Luck if one vet cannot do it try another

Personally if you dont intend to breed from your dog I wouldnt hip score as you are subjecting your dog to a large anesthetic unecessarily although vets are good occasionally anesthetic can go wrong.

The B.V.A. website states as of 01/01/06 the B.M.S. ( Breed Mean Score) is 15 for Labradors and 13 for Labradoodles.
Breeders are advised by the B.V.A. only to breed dogs who have hip scores below the average score. :D
