Lola is the same! I think harnesses restrict their movement a bit certainly behind their legs. She is like this with all harnesses - but fine with her 'walkies' collar and lead. She waits on the step into the hall until she sees which I get out - if the collar she walks slowly forward and puts her neck out ready, if the harness, she runs away!

I was worried she didn't like going out in her alert dog coat etc, but she's quite happy for us to put that on, and then her lead and collar, it's only ever the harness she doesn't like. She is improving a bit...

Riley is fine with his lead but bring out his harness (so i can drive to the woods up the road) and he is a nightmare, running all over the house, jumping on the sofa, jumping off the sofa, and refusing to sit still. as soon as i get his harness on though, he's all tail wagging and laughing(well it looks like he's laughing  )jumps in the car and we r off! he has only been like this for a few weeks, before he was fine having his harness on. odd though :?

Do you think sometimes they could get rubbed by the harness and not want it on? and then once it's on and it isn't rubbing feel ok about it? We did try a harness with padding but it made no difference.
