Such a Happy Day.

Post by doodleted » 07 Apr 2014, 21:25

Just over three years ago I was almost bed ridden and certainly couldnt leave the house. In three months my weight had plummeted from 11 stone to just under 7 stone . I couldnt keep food in and I was completely exhausted. After many tests, hospital visits and two blood transfusions I was diagnosed with Crohns disease.
It was at this point my Wonderful husband took over. He would not let me look on this as a bad thing. He firmly believes that everything in life is for a reason.
He felt this was a new chapter in my life.
I had to give up work I loved my job but it was at times stressful. Our three children were all doing their own thing.
What did he do to make me buck up and get me out the house
Yes he bought me a Doodle . Patch Our Jack Russell cross has never been out going, so Hubby decided to give us all a new challenge.
To day was my 6 month check up. The doctor was so pleased,
In three years my weigh is almost back to normal, Im down from 22 tablets a day to just 4.My blood tests are normal. All this means the Crohns is in remission.
I dont have to go back to the hospital for a year, unless I have an episode.
ITs such a happy day.

So glad you are getting better, I have crohns too and know that although the going has been tricky at times my life has been enhanced because of my lifestyle changes I made because of crohns.

Gosh - what fantastic news.
What a thoughtful and caring husband
Well done to you too - it can't have been easy to work through the misery of that disease and punch through to the other side but you did
And doodles make the best nurse companions - they really are intuitive and empathic ( not to mention fun and a pain in the butt sometimes too)
Here's to a bright and healthy future
