Molly
I have just received the bill for my darling Mollys euthansia in the post, along with the bill for Archies vaccinations. That feels so odd and unsettling.
Been speaking to someone whose Westie turned her head to the wall and died three weeks after her best friend died. I know our seperation while we were stuck in America was so stressful for her, she had bitten a hole in her back by the time we got back and then it just seemed her immunse system crashed completely.
In an effort to help her I found out so much about nutrition for dogs, all of it too late for her sadly.
I am so grateful for her presence in our life during some really tough times, she was an awesome dog and I am also grateful that because of our loss we now have Archie, who we cannot imagine life without.
It feels very bittersweet today.

Re: Molly
It is the saddest loss in the world when we have to say goodbye to our beloved, loving and loyal animals. Sadly they just do not have the life span we do so there is always the bitter-sweet ending to endure as a pet owner.
Cherish little Archie and look back with fondness on the lovely memories Molly has given you.

I can relate exactly to how you feel. We lost our black lab x George, back in June. I had had him from a rescue before I met my husband so it was juts him and me for a couple of years and he got me through some tough times and then welcomed my husband and then children with open paws.
Now we have Truffle who is so different but is loved jus as much, though my kids still have pictures on their bedroom walls of Georgie Boy. Time move on but memories never fade and now we have Truffle, we are smiling once more.

Re: Molly
Maybe I can share her here with you.

I have been watching this and crying ALOT. I think its really starting to sink in now, it was such a shock and everything moved so fast. Archies just come from his spot on the fireplace, and lay down at my feet. Bless him.
Meg is my friends dog who is in pup at the moment. I wanted one of her pups but my husband thought it would be too daft and lively and so we got Archie. Personally I think he behaves just like she did when she was little
Its funny how acceptable it is when its your own dog!

It is comforting to have such a lovely souvenir of her, she looks a very special girl who had a wonderful life with you. Archie will lick away the tears, a new dog never replaces the old one but fills the dog shaped hole in your heart.
