Bye Bye Iccle one

Bye Bye Iccle one
Hubby and Kyra have just taken our wee Trixy (Pet Rat) to the vets to get her put to sleep as we found a large lump (butter bean size) She was such a sweety. Trixy would sit on my shoulder of a morning and watch This Morning then if she wanted to go to loo or bed she would run back to the cage.We have had her for nearly 2 years. I just could not do it we have watched her grow from a baby. Run free with all the iccle rats you will be missed so much

How very sad, losing a pet is always so hard, no matter how big or small. Trixy will always have a place in your hearts.

So very sorry for your loss.
I too have lost a pet rat a couple of years ago. His name was Frank and he had to be PTS because of a tumour.
When the kids are old enough I will get the kids a rat. They're so clever and in tune to humans. A very underrated and irrationally disliked animal.

Run free and find some lonely shoulder to perch upon.
xx

Here she is, my brave little baby. It never bothered her and she carried on her normal life as usual! The vet said if it wasn't bothering her then it wasn't worth operating on but if she became ill or started losing weight it had probably spread inside and that would be the right time to let her go. She carried on for a while before she started getting bony so that's when we made the decision. She had a good go of it though. :)

:( :( :( so sorry to read about Trixie.
Rats are one of my favourite small pets.
Much better for children than hamsters ( imo)
I had one called Doris who loved to watch television
Sadly she too developed a tumor and had to be pts. I cried for days
Run free little Trixie, say hello to Doris.

Thank-you all so much. It was a tumor that trixie had too. We did also have one called Iggy buy she too was PTS on the same day that we went to the new forest doodle show so least they can now play side swapping on someone's lonely shoulders she too had a tumor
