dog friendly accommodation - Herefordshire & Somerset

Here are two places we recently stayed at:

The Cider House, near Ledbury - http://www.welcomecottages.com/cottages ... use-w43815 . A small house, with 2 double berdrooms, one on groundfloor, one up first floor with sloping ceilings, both en-suite. Really lovely, we didn't bring the dogs at the time but it is a very comfortable place for one large or two smaller Doods. Carol, who owns the property, is very helpful indeed. There is no garden only a small patio next to a gravelled yard where you park. From thereyou access the fields (may have horses in them) and you can walk to Eastnor Castle. Cider House is about a mile from Ledbury, where there's the river walk. Property really comfortable and beautifully done (bring throws for the sofas...).

Watermeadow Lodges http://www.watermeadow-lodges.com/ in North Perrott- three wooden lodges overlooking a small fishing lake. Lodges (and beds) very comfortable and the Doods loved the leather sofas to stretch out. Willow Lodge (the one at the back has a bigger garden than the other two. Dogs need to be on leash within the development (gated), pity they don't offer one of the fenced fields as an exercise area. There are walks along farm tracks and fields which locals pointed out to us- very helpful and friendly! A short stroll from Watermeadow Lodges (5 mins) to main road (garden centre, farm shop, tea room) and then down a lane directly across the road. Opposite the Cricket field is an old orchard (dog bin at entrance) where the dogs can run off leash, ours loved it. There's another walk but we didn't have time to try it out. Down a lane across from pub, and then left across a field down to the river - it looked lovely.
