Kings Head, Thirlmere, Lake District

Post by jonb » 21 Mar 2017, 10:05

Just back from a few days up in the Lake District stopping in the Kings Head at Thirlmere. Nice pub\hotel place with decent ales and food and they were more than happy to take in Roker...in fact there were a few dogs there over the course of the weekend including 2 other labradoodles none of which looked anything like each other!!

Its inbetween Windermere and Keswick so plenty of places all around to take the pooch for a walk of varying lengths and type. Weather wasnt so i declined the chance to take on getting to the top of Helvellyn which is just behind the hotel but we did do a very good walk along the side of Ullswater on Saturday, about 9 miles in total, then on Sunday we drove West until it stopped raining and ended up on a cracking beach at St Bees for an hour and as usual Roker has brought most of the beach back with him.

Loads of dog friendly pubs and places round and about for eating, drinking etc.
