This is Arthur Mary Doodle, our 5 and a half month old medium labradoodle. He loves walks in the country, meeting new people and hunting out tissues. He is less keen on cats, the hoover and sleeping past 5am!!

There has to be a tale in the name - do tell!

Yes the name is a little unusual. Mary was our nan's name, sadly she died a couple of months before we got Arthur. She had dogs all her life and would have loved him, so we thought it a fitting tribute to have Mary as Arthur's middle name - though we tend not to embarrassing him by using it in public, unless he is being very naughty!!!

Thats lovely,your Nan would be so happy with him and proud to have pasted her dog loving life on to you.xx

Hi from Jessie and I - I think he looks quite like Jessie, she has a middle name too, Willow (only because we couldn't decide on one)

I agree Arthur does look a lot like Jessie - how old is she? Jessie is more black than Arthur though, his coat is going more brown/ash coloured over time so will be interesting to see what colour he ends up.

ps we have so many photos where Dougal looks identical to Arthur they could be twins.. Dougal is nearly 8

Jessie is six months - she has some white hair appearing in places now, so I don't know how she will end up.

he is very handsome ,we picked the name because my little yorkie died a couple of weeks before ,and i didnt want to call him after him with the same name because they are all differnt so one night i was lying in bed thinkin of what name and dexter came to mind which is similer to chester that was my old dogs name ,iwrote a list of names but in the end my family said go with ur first choice ,i always rember my chester when i call dexter sometimes ,i do slip up and call him chester.thats a lovely way to rember her giving him her name.
