Doodlefest 2012 Review
We would like to thank everyone who attended our 2012 Doodlefest in July. A weekend of fun was had by all.

Friday evening started with the Doodle Olympics and followed with our lovely campers braving the rain to queue for their fish and chips from the mobile chip shop that came to feed us all on the Friday night.

The weather was bright, warm and sunny on the day of the dog show and, apart from a sudden downpour at around 2pm, it turned out to be a lovely day. We would like to thank all of the members of the general public who turned out to support us. We would also like to give a big vote of thanks to our two judges for the day; Jemima Harrison of Passionate Productions and Miranda Luck of the Rescue Review.

Other attractions on the day were a dog scurry, which the dogs absolutely loved, and stalls selling food, ice-cream, dog treats, home made cakes, collars & leads, doggy apparel, gifts, bric-a-brac, the world famous Pamdanas and of course, everyones favourite, the bar supplied by micro brewers, Binghams of Berkshire.

On the Saturday evening our campers were given the opportunity to throw caution to the wind and have fun at our 70s/80s/ themed disco. A great night was had by all and we had some wonderful entries in the fancy dress competitions, with both dogs and humans dressing up for the part. Two brave couples got together and performed as Abba with their own Doodley version of Waterloo. By the end of the night, everyone was singing it. Of course the bar stayed open throughout the evening which, no doubt, helped to lubricate the vocal chords.

Everyone went home on the Sunday afternoon with happy, well socialised and tired dogs who had spent all weekend running around the campsite getting to know everyone. We hope you'll all be back next year.

Despite shows being cancelled all over the country due to the atrocious weather, we kept the faith, went ahead and against all odds we made £1,630 to help the dogs that pass through our rescue.

Thank you all for your support and a massive thanks to all our volunteers who come back time after time to put this event on each year. We couldn't do it without you.
