What a glorious day! I took my camera on my walks this morning - first I took Poppy and Beamish through the valley behind our house - there is a fenced field that is empty so I could let Poppy off her lead for a play.

Then I took Daisy to the local heath, where she did her best to get dirty, but magically stayed clean and fluffy!

Finally - the local pests - there are so many of these,l and they are the reason Poppy has to stay on her lead almost everywhere!

Then I did it all again this afternoon, but the other way round!

Lovely to see Poppy and Beamish having a huge game together, it's wonderful exercise for them. It looks a gorgeous walk, shame about the deer. There seem to be more and more of the wretched things everywhere, and nobody attempting to control or cull them (except Leon and Poppy of course   ).

FAB photos Bid. It has been lovely for walking the last few days, cold but clear. Local pests could be a good few meals ... for your trio. Far to many of the darn things these days.
It's getting to close to that time of year when the livestock are let out again to pasture. Mixed feelings - on one hand Spring is near on the other the cows are in 'our' dog fields!!

Gosh, your weather is in MUCH better shape than ours, Bid - here it was 5 degrees, blowing hard from the north west and raining! All the dog walking today has been with clenched teeth!
Are deer getting more relaxed, do you think? Last week I walked Leon and Sal just inland of Admiralty Point, and there were a pair of deer lounging around in a field of winter wheat, watching us go past as if they were the lords of creation! I seriously considered letting the dogs off just to wipe off their smug expressions!
Thanks for sharing the brilliant photos.
Dave

Yep - it's my Lumix point & click camera!

The deer are getting ridiculous! Some of them don't even bother to get up when a dog gets close! They are a real pest - I see some most days and there are very large herds around here.

Oh Bid what lovely pictures! You are so lucky to have all that open space so close to home. Beamish is looking all grown up now and Poppy and Daisy are too cute for words. Three very happy, healthy doodles :D :D :D

No, the Forest is a good hour from me - I live in a Dorset village, and it's just the surrounding countryside. :D

What lovely pics. Your dogs are gorgeous. Your photos have inspired me to take my camera when we go for our walk today. My biggest problem is the slight delay on my wee digital camera. What starts off to look like a great shot usually ends up as a pic of Lottie turning round and running away! I need to make the best of the weather today because it may be the last blue skies we have up here - I so envy you your weather!

xx Fiona and Lottie
