Hi everyone, I introduced our puppy on the forum yesterday and got such a lovely welcome, and now I need your help already!

Little Aero needs a haircut - his breeder advised us to use someone who has experience of grooming doodles, but I can't seem to find anyone in our area who knows much about them.

We're right down on the South coast, near Southampton, but I'd be prepared to travel a bit for the right pair of scissors! I wondered if there was anyone local-ish on the forum who has a groomer that they are happy with and could recommend?

Many thanks (can't believe I'm so worried about getting a dog's hair cut, honestly, this puppy is sending me loopy... :D )

I was a nervous wreck the first time we took Arthur to the groomers, he was 8 months old when we took him. We took him to the groomers at our local Pets At Home and they did a super job. They kept his body quite short and the legs, head and tail longer. No idea if this is how a doodle is supposed to be cut but he looked and smelled great when he got home :D

There used to be a link on here somewhere with some grooming instructions, I'll see if I can locate it.

Hi Julie,
Welcome!

'The dog house' in Botley.

I have been very peased with every cut Jessie has had there, website below.

http://www.thedoghouseuk.co.uk/Pages/default.aspx

They take a while to answer e-mails and she doesn't answer the phone straight away because she is busy dog grooming!

If you E-mail and text she will get back to you one way or the other. I highly recommend them.

Where abouts do you live? we are Hedge End

Hi guys, thank you all very much for your replies, it is quite nerve wracking isn't it!

But Botley?! That's brilliant, we're in Hamble, just down the road from you! :P Thanks so much for that, Jessie looks extremely gorgeous so it must be good! I'll let you know how we get on!

Thanks, I will make sure I ask them to keep the beard etc. He has an appointment in two weeks time so will post a photo afterwards, you can let me know what you think.

Had to give him a proper bath and shampoo this evening after fun and frolics (and full on swimming) in some extremely smelly mud. You can imagine the state of our bathroom now!! Enormous mud splats absolutely everywhere, and all over me, of course. Then right at the end, after struggling all the way through to keep him in bath, he decided he quite liked it after all and wouldn't get out!!

These are pics taken this week, she had a haircut 2 weeks ago. Her body is quite short and her face just trimmed nicely.
Did you book in with the one in Botley or somewhere else?

Hi Sarah, yes we booked at Botley. They sound really good, so thanks for recommending!

If you don't mind I'll take that photo of Jessie along with me, save me trying to explain it and getting it all wrong. :)

Ok, Sonia sees Jessie quite a bit as we live in the same area. so she will know who you are referring to.
