My mother-in-law had a stroke last year, and part of her rehabilitation she is doing art classes to help get her coordination back in her right arm.

She's doing really well & other than her right arm needing some work she's fine. :D

She absolutely adores Wurly & decided to do a picture of her, & then she gave it us as a pressie. For saying that's she's had a stoke, she's done very well, not a perfect likeness  , but we feel she's captured Wurly's essence 8) . We are very proud of her. :D

She did it from a photo of Wurly from Halloween Wurls was carrying her Halloween bucket. :D

I have to say I was a tad worried that I'd have to hang a picture that was awful  (that makes me sound so mean  )

Fortunately I have a great relationship with her :D , she has good sense of humour, & she said if I hated it i could always hang it in the loo  . We've put it in the hall by the front door, so when she comes round tomorrow I think she'll be pleased I didn't put it in the bathroom  .

Actually, that's a bloody good picture. It is her essence, which is what a good portrait should be, and it's also great to look at. I'm impressed.

Yes, I think it is a good picture in its own right, it has intensity and depth of colour, and appeals to me much more than photographic style images. And she has captured Wurly's gaze very well.
