Not sure if that link worked!
Today I am Very Sad. I have had my beloved 19 year old cat Tom put to sleep and I have buried him in the garden on a bed of catmint, under his catmint bush. It has been a while coming as he has been going downhill, although not yet suffering badly, as far as I could tell. He had a fine meal of prawns before we went.
I have had Tom for 40% of my life and cannot imagine how strange it is going to be - an empty lap whilst watching TV; no little chats with him where we miaow to each other for a few minutes, no little shadow following me around the house and garden and lying across my shoulders as I wander around the garden. He was a truly affectionate friend, and I WILL MISS HIM!!

RIP Tom and play happily at the bridge
You gave him a lovely long and happy life and a very fine meal of prawns - no cat could ask for more
Hugs

Oh Clare, I really feel for you. Our furry friends come into our lives and bring joy and happiness, only asking for a comfy bed, some nice food and a little attention. It's just not fair that their lives are so much shorter than ours.
Take care

So sorry to hear your news. Big hugs

So sorry Clare. We love them all their lives and they give us so much back that it leaves such a big hole when they've gone.

Thank you all. This forum is so supportive as I just know you will l totally 'get' how heartbroken I have felt. Tempered in the knowledge that he could not have gone on any longer just to keep me company. At least I did right by him, however much it hurt.
Thank you again xx
