Rehoming a dog is a minefield with so many unscrupulous people around. Is your dog neutered ? If not he could be bought and used by puppy farmers......

Have you talked to your breeder? A good breeder will have a lifelong interest in the welfare of all puppies they have bred.

Re-homing a loved family dog is a nightmare no-one wants to face

It is so difficult to find out if the nice lady, with talk of a big garden and kiddies, is really what she seems or a puppy farmer looking for more 'stock' to exploit, as Katherine says  . Minature Labradoodles are in more demand nowadays than the Standards, so they might be at even greater risk of abuse. The breeders find it a nightmare too, for their beloved puppies.

If you really want the best for your little boy and don't care about the money, just him getting a wonderful new family, then please put him into the Labradoodle Trust to be re-homed with a properly assessed family. They are purely voluntary and have no money spare to buy dogs so you would need to sign him over without payment but he would be guaranteed a great life, remaining under the care of the Trust should there be any problems or circumstance changes in his new family. It really would be 'Happy Ever After' :P

It may be a silly question, but if thats the case why are you wanting so much money for him?? £450 is a LOT of money for a 2 year old doodle :?:
The trust will find a foster home for him where he will be assessed and then matched with the best home suited to him. He wont go into a rehoming centre, and will totally vet the potential family, and neuter him before he goes.
That really is the best option, as I cant see how you can vetcheck anybody really.

Good luck anyway.

Rehoming via a rescue organisation does not necessarily mean a dog has to go into kennels. Animals can be rehomed from your home or a foster home. The Labradoodle Trust are experts and offer those rehoming their dog and new owners, specialist support and advice. Dogs are only placed once the new home has been checked and is definitely suitable.

It's a shame you are rehoming your labradoodle, we have a standard labradoodle and we have a very small garden but we walk him over fields everyday so he only uses the garden for the toliet, we live in a terraced house but it is quite spacious.

small dogs don't need a huge amount of space happiness to them is a loving home and plenty of walks

We would love to have him as a mate for Teddy and give him a wonderful loving home ( with walks over lovely fields ) but would never pay £450 when so many poor doodles and other dogs are looking to be re-homed all over the country

I know a lovely lady who has three standard labradoodles and lives in a normal terraced house. The walks are what count. There is a bit of gallumphing around indoors but as long as a dood is exercised the size of house does not really come into it.

Still feeling uneasy about this!! If it were me in that situation I would be too upset to even think of £450 or near offer, lots of tlc and experience would be more important.
